Versatile RFID card reader with high security and functionality

The SCR-SD G2 contactless card reader communicates with access control units using the OSDP^TM communication protocol, which makes it easy to connect and use with access control systems that also use this standard protocol.

The RFID capabilities and configuration options allow for a multitude of reading options and combinations using the 13.56MHz frequency. Using the SCR Configuration tool you can enable and disable what MIFARE® unique identifier (UID) the reader will read, combine with up to five MIFARE Classic® or MIFARE Plus® cards with data programmed on a sector and/or up to five additional MIFARE® DESFire®data media programmed in an application.

SCR-SD-G2 uses an RGB-type LED stripe and built-in buzzer to communicate statuses to the users and a colour display that can be used to communicate text messages or bitmaps that, for example, prompt the user to input their PIN-code on the keypad. Our implementation of OSDP^TM allows for several coding standards of special text characters and manufacturer specific commands for presenting prompts or status bitmaps in the display.

The SCR-SD-G2 can operate in a temperature range from -40°C to +70°C and the readers IP54 rated enclosure is dust protected and prevents ingress of water spray from any direction in accordance with IEC 60529:2013 (Edition 2.2), Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code).

The built-in mechanical tamper switch protects against unwanted opening of the enclosure and can also be used for indication that the reader has been removed from its original place of installation. SCR-SD G2 has been impact protection tested and complies with IK09 of IEC 62262:2002, Degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment against external mechanical impacts.

The SCR-SD-G2 reader complies with the General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC, Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU and the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive 2011/65/EU, including the amended Annex II in 2015/863/EU (RoHS3) and thus fulfils the requirement for CE marking of the device.
